(An experimental attempt to explore the transition between yesterday, today and tomorrow)

JAJAJA_Beitrag: ATOPOLY – ECHORAUM verlegt das Prinzip des Transits vom Weg in den Kopf. Im ehemaligen Fährterminal – einem Ort, der historisch für Übergang, Erwartung und Abschied gebaut wurde – entsteht eine Situation, in der sich Bewegung als Entscheidung zeigt: eintreten, zuhören, mitmachen oder draußen bleiben. Bis zu rund 18 Besucher*innen tragen Kopfhörer und folgen einer Endlosschleife aus Fragen und einfachen Handlungsanweisungen. Der Raum wird dabei nicht zur Bühne, sondern zum sozialen Messinstrument: Wer gehört dazu? Wer beobachtet? Wie verändert sich die Atmosphäre, wenn ein Teil des Publikums in eine unsichtbare Tonspur eintaucht und der andere Teil ohne Zugang bleibt?

ATOPOLY – ECHO ROOM shifts the idea of transit from movement across geography into movement inside perception. Set in the former ferry terminal—an architecture designed for crossing, waiting, arrival and departure—the work turns mobility into a sequence of choices: to enter, to listen, to participate, or to remain outside. Up to around 18 visitors wear headphones and follow a continuous loop of questions and simple, feasible instructions. The space becomes less a stage than a social instrument: who joins, who watches, and what happens when part of the audience is immersed in an invisible audio layer while others are left without access?
Within En Tránsito, the piece matters because it does not “represent” themes like migration, mobility, and the gap between perception and reality—it produces them as lived experience. Transit appears as a condition between inside and outside, speech and silence, private reality and shared space. The prompts are designed to work without a dedicated play area, using sightlines, passages, proximity and distance—the micro-rules of a place where people are usually only “passing through.” The terminal turns into an echo room: what you hear alters what you see—and what you do alters what others take to be real.
